The acquisition of Underwoods represents a major coup for the Directors, Karen Southcott and Pamela Jackson, and takes Town & County from being the ‘new kid on the block’ to the largest letting agent in Northampton in the space of just a few months.
With over 20 years of property and asset management experience between them, Karen and Pamela established Town & County. It immediately benefited from their refreshingly honest and friendly approach to residential lettings. They have also identified a particular niche in the market for finding suitable properties for investors to purchase, when using the company as the managing agent.
Richard Buzzoni of Watersheds said: “After an extensive countywide search for the right acquisition, what could be better than the purchase of your nearest and largest competitor.”
Pamela said: “We were delighted with the success we had already achieved in our first year, but to acquire such a reputable business as Underwoods has really put the icing on the cake.
When a client wants to purchase a property to let, we assist in the selection process and make recommendations as to whether the property represents a good investment with good returns. We are totally independent and not affiliated to any particular estate agency. So when it comes to sourcing properties, we are completely impartial and have ‘free rein’ to find the right place at the right price.”
Karen said: “We will now be offering Underwoods’ customers the same level of service that has proven to be so popular to Town & County customers.”
Town & County is a member of ARLA (Association of Residential Letting Agents), the industry’s governing body.
Funding for the deal was provided by HSBC Bank, with Howes Percival solicitors handling the legal work.
