ROG was established in 1932 originally as an accountancy practice, evolving into today's substantial entrepreneurial, family owned trading and property group. Its trading operations have centred on the backing of good management, whose skill and energy complements the expertise, resources and strategic management of ROG. This combination helps the operations to grow both organically and, where appropriate, by acquisition. ROG has built up and later sold its interests in butchers’ shops, convenience stores, car dealerships and retirement homes; the latter such strategic holding being in Leaders, one of the largest residential lettings agents in the UK. Leaders was previously sold for £48m in a MBO.
Edward Rowlandson, Business Development Director of ROG confirmed, "The management team at Newcare are highly experienced in the sector and are exactly the type of management talent we like to back. We are now hard at work assessing the first potential acquisitions for an expanding NewCare".
Richard Buzzoni of Watersheds said, "Watersheds have worked with ROG for some years, seeking acquisitions for their trading division. Whilst it is clear that the acquisition strategy, and the sector choices, are developed by ROG internally, it is enjoyable to assist a positive and clear thinking client of ROG's stature to satisfy their objectives".
