The RO Group acquires its first care provider

Watersheds, the Chelmsford-based corporate finance adviser, announces the acquisition by The RO Group ("ROG") of NewCare Devon, the largest independent provider of domiciliary care services in Devon. ROG has its headquarters in Potters Bar, and NewCare, in Newton Abbot.

ROG was set up in 1932 originally as an accountancy practice, evolving into today's substantial entrepreneurial family owned trading and property group. Its trading operations have centred on the backing of good management whose skill and energy complements the expertise, resources and strategic management of ROG. This combination helps the operations to grow both organically and, where appropriate, by acquisition. ROG has built up and later sold its interests in butchers' shops, convenience stores, car dealerships and retirement homes, the last such strategic holding being in Leaders, one of the largest residential lettings agents in the UK. Leaders was sold in a £48m MBO earlier in 2010.
